Vanessa Castañeda Photography

Vanessa Castañeda (formerly Vanessa Bahmani) is an artist and photographer, born in Guatemala City and raised in Berkeley, California. She received her B.A. degree in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and an MFA degree in Photography, Video & Related Digital Media from The School of Visual Arts in NYC.


Vanessa was awarded semi-finalist in The Adobe Design Achievement Awards (2008), a nominee at the NY Photo Festival (2009), a top 110 finalist for EXPOSURE 2011, and participated in CURATE NYC (2012).


Vanessa's work has been exhibited in galleries and museum throughout the country. Exhibitions include The Power House Books Arena in Brooklyn (2008), the ISECultural Foundation in NYC (2009), The Southern Food & Beverage Museum in New Orleans (2011), Rush Arts Galleryin NYC (2011), South Street Seaport Museum in NYC (2012) and the Station Museum of Contemporary Art in Houston, TX (2012).


Vanessa's clients include VIBE Magazine, MLB.com, Quintessential New Tier Magazine, Hot Stepz Magazine, Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Kahlua, Pacifico Beer, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Jameson Irish Whiskey, The Glenlivet, Chivas Regal 1801 Club, Catdaddy Moonshine, Skyy Spirits, Inocente Tequila, BNP Paribas, Liquidnet Holdings, The Art Institute University, Vision 21 Art Institute and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City among others. 


Vanessa is a freelance photographer, digital artist, educator, certified Reiki Master, and currently resides in Northern California.
